Support Txaná Ikakuru

We started this campaign in order to raise funds for the health treatment of Txaná Ikakuru, who about two months ago began to feel strong pains in his stomach. He was treated with medicines from the forest, but the condition continued. So he went to Rio Branco (the capital of Acre), to see a specialized doctor, who gave him some medicine and a series of exams. At this moment Ikakuru is also undergoing treatment with medicine men from the village Pinuya, in Tarauacá. He still doesn't have a diagnosis about what is causing him so much discomfort, but he has been feeling pain all over his body, swelling in his face, and tiredness.

Txaná Ikakuru is the leader of the Boa Vista village, president of the Yube Inu Institute, and a great artist, known and loved in many places around the world for his performance as Txaná, great singer of the Huni Kuin tradition. He also develops a work of fundamental importance to his community, inspiring young people to perpetuate the tradition and bringing several improvements to the living conditions and health of the Boa Vista Village in the middle of the Jordan River - AC.

Recently, due to the heavy rains in Acre, Ikakuru had many damages, with material losses and also helped other relatives. At this moment he needs resources to perform exams, pay for treatments, food, transportation, lodging, and several other demands that arise due to this health problem.
